  • Choppy Market Indicator

Does anyone have or know of an indicator that will show when a stock is in a choppy phase and when it is not.

By Choppy I mean not if the ATR is increasing (the ATR could be increasing in a powerful trending phase which would be a non-choppy market) but a market that would be moving or retracing back and forth.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks...

What's wrong with the built in Choppiness Indicator originally developed by E.W. Dreiss using chaos principles to measure market trendiness?
    Or Welles Wilder's pervasive ADX?
