  • 3-10 oscillator

Anyone able to help me build a simple 3-10 oscillator ?
    Its as follows:

The Fast line is : (3 period sma) - (10 period sma)
Slow line is : 16 period sma of fast line

    Thanks folks.

Use the MACD. Use 3 for FasLen, 10 for SlowLen and 16 for Smoothing.
Then make sure there is a a checkmark in Simple Moving Average for both Oscillator and Signal.
If you want the same as an efs with all the parameters adjustable click here and download basicMACD.efs

      Thanks for the idea.
I feel silly asking this, but on the fast line im looking for the 3sma minus the 10sma... with the slow line as the 16sma of the fast line. I understand the smoothing equates to the latter (slow line), but does the 3sma minus the 10sma equate to the 3,10 macd ?

The MACD component is the difference between the 3 sma (FasLen) and the 10 sma (SlowLen). That is your Fast Line
Then the Smoothing (or Signal) is a moving average of that difference and that is your Slow Line
Hence if you use a 3,10,16 MACD the result will be exactly what you asked for.
