Yes it is. Bollinger Bands are an example of that.

thanks for the response - what i am trying to do is establish a MA and then produce 3 standard deviations up and 3 standard deviation down from that MA - can this be done with bollinger bands ?

That is exactly what the Bollinger Bands study will do. Just set it to calculate 3 standard deviations
