  • Slope of CCI

It would be good to be able to test for the CCI study sloping upwards or downwards, so an alert can be setup.

If fact, testing for positive or negative slopes for any or the oscillators would be very useful and can be used for triggers.

In the meantime, is there a way to write in EFS Wizard the test for a positive or negative slope on the CCI study?

    thanks,

Yes it is possible to do that with the Formula Wizard.
Create a regular CCI study and then set your conditions for an upwards or downwards slope.
For some these are simply defined by the current value of the CCI being higher or lower than the prior one. For others it needs to be higher or lower than the prior two (or any other combination).
Then for each condition you can paint the CCI line, or set an alert on change of slope, etc

Thanks Alex. How do I specify the present vs the previous values of CCI? Is it the Function Editor Properties " offset" eg. "-1" for previous bar ; "0 " for present value? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes exactly like that. Offset -1 indicates the prior value and 0 is the current one.
