    Need some help !

How can i create an indicator of an indicator ?
f.e. : Bollinger Bands on RSI, MACD or some other Oscillators

Do I have to write a new formula for each ?

    I'm using ES 7.5

It would be great if someone could give some help.

    Thx in advance !

You may want to check this thread which shows an example of study on study using the Formula Wizard

      Hi,

As long as the indicators in question are part of the bulitin set (ie: those listed under basic study or advanced study (not all advace study's will work though) if you right click on a chart) then it is pretty easy. You will not need to program in the study, just the strategy portion of the code.

If you look in the formula directory under builtin, you will see how to define a builtin study for use. You could also create a simple strategy using builtins using the formula wizard to get the idea of syntax. This will show you how to use a single study, not a study of a study. But start with small steps first...its a good idea.

There have been a number of requests to do MA's of an RSI, so searching this BB looking for RSI should allow you to see a formula that does that. This would give an example of how to do an indicator of an indicator.

If you have additional specific questions, please feel free to ask.

First thx a lot for your superfast reply.

I'll have a look to that thread and try the builtin's.

Maybe this can help me to go further.

        Thanks again !

Post the code you have and someone may be able to help
FYI if you run a search for bollinger AND rsi you should be able to find one already programmed
