i ask because i have another software program where the RSI seems to be calculated differently and i need them to be the same.

If you are looking to match the RSI to another application, then you may want to look at the RSIStandard.efs in the Library folder. This study makes use of a simple moving average. The RSI that is displayed in the Basic Studies folder is based on an exponential moving average. You can confirm this by comparing it to the RSIEnhanced.efs. Both of these calculations are still dependant upon the length of the RSI that you are applying.
