  • Indicator Scaling in Price Window

    Hi

I would like to superimpose an indicator over the price scale of an instrument using the instrument's price scale only, rather than having the indicator appear in a separate lower window which I do NOT want. However, when I place the indicator in the Price window, it always uses its own values and thus appears way below, and sometimes above - the price bars. My indicator - an MA based on another indicator - has actual values between +/- 200 approx. The values are actually irrelevant and I just wish the indicator superimposed onto the current price scale.

I can do this in TradeStation by simply saying "no axis scaling" for my indicator. How can I do this similarly in eSignal please?

    Thanks

After you loaded the indicator right click the chart select Edit Studies, then from Study dropdown menu select the appropriate study and set the Scale to No Scale

Wonderful, thank you Alexis. I hoped it would be something simple I had overlooked.

      Thanks

        You are most welcome.
Note that you could also output the study to a separate window (ie as a non price study) and then simply overlay it on the price window by clicking and dragging it into the price window while pressing the Shift key. This would offer you the option to plot it in its own window if you so wish

Thank you again Alexis for that second tip, that's good to know as I had forgotten you could do that in eSignal.

The indicator itself is already in its own lower window. I just wanted to add an MA on the indicator and put that MA into the Price window so your first "No Scale" solution is the one I will use in this case.

          Thanks
