  • changing backgrounds, text/image/shape alerts, etc on certain conditions

I have been searching the forums and fileshare for these itmes and am getting nowhere.

Are there any efs examples of how to paint the background of a chart according to a ceratin condition? the link below shows what I mean (in the first attachment in that post). Oh and if anyone can post a link to the reference for this - I found setchartBG but that paints the entire window.

I'm also looking for some examples of the various images and shapes that can be used as alerts or that can be painted in a chart window as conditiosn warrant. And perhaps some refernece materials - the little I have seen just isn't clicking for me.

    thanks in advance

Given that the example you mention was posted by me here is the formula that paints the background and plots the shapes when the close is less than the 10 period MA.
Open the efs with either the Formula Wizard or the Editor and it will show you how the background is painted.

With regards to examples of the various images, shapes and their relative flags the best solution is to go to the EFS Help Center at the following link
    http://www.esignalcentral.com/traini.../efs_database/
Once there click on EFS Function Reference->Drawing Functions. On the right pane you will find all the drawing function available. If for example you click on DrawShapeRelative you will then be presented with links to Shapes, Flags, Colors, etc.

If you also want a copy of the EFS Function Reference on your hard drive then go to Chris Kryza's group at FileShare (link below) where you can download it in Standard Windows Help format or in HTML format.

    Hope this helps
