I have just started working with this efs and would like to know when the new trend that is unconfirmed in red becomes locked in as to direction and will not revert back to the old line. Is this based on the # of bars used or is it something else?

    Thank you.

It always helps to post the code you are talking about.

I have 2 versions on my computer.

So I am not sure which one you are talking about.

      Hello Larry,

If you are referring to the version from our EFS Library, RealTimeSwings.efs, then the developing swing (red by default) will remain red until the specified conditions for a swing have occurred. These conditions are set by the formula parameters. The default condition for a confirmed swing is a combination of 5 bars (on both sides of the swing point) and a 30% retracement of the previously confirmed swing. Visit the article at the link above to review the other options for defining a swing.
