As I said before even though the syntax you used for the ema() function will work it will not return the correct results when used with external intervals and/or symbols.
The correct syntax is the one I provided in a previous reply.

You are correct. The example I gave below discussed StochD, not EMA, where my syntax was correct to begin witn and never in question.

The PIC below shows a special case I made where the blue DOW value is the EMA2 according to your correction,and the blue DOWX is the result my faulty code
