  • Strange behaviour with pivot point formula

    Hi ,

I'm new to esignal and was trying to load the pivotpointdailyall formula on my futures daily charts (5 min), from the standard EFS library that comes default with esignal 8.

Its strange that im not able to load any pivotpoint formula on any of my charts. It says "Pivot Point: loading data" .... and nothing happens after that!!!.... i tried with all pivot points but same result.

Strange thing is that it functions properly with a particular index futures .... BUT NOT with any thing else!

    Im attaching snapshot of same.

    Can somebody kindly help.

    Thanks ,

In general when the "Loading data..." message persists that is an indication that the formula is not receiving the data it is calling. At the time this was happening could you plot a daily chart for those symbols?
Also the study title displayed in your image does not match the one displayed by the pivot formula currently included in the Pivots folder of Formulas. You may want to post the efs you are using so that someone can check it

      Hi Alexis ,

      1. NO, I'm unable to load daily chart for the index futures for which i get the concerned message "Loading Data". Attaching snapshot for daily chart.

      2. Strange part is, that this behavior is intermittent, it works one day for some futures and doesn't work for the SAME futures next day.

      So example:
Monday: Nifty Futures pivots formula work's and Bank Nifty pivots formula doesn't work.
Tuesday : Bank Nifty works and Nifty Futures doesn't work.
      Wednesday : Neither Works.

(Day's of course are mentioned as example)

      3. Sorry for the wrong pivot formula snapshot. I also use customized 3 level pivots. None the less ....Its the same error with regular dailypivots formula included with esignal.

Would be grateful if you could help out.

      Regards ,
      Stumper.

        1) and 3) That is why you are getting the "Loading data..." message. The formula cannot access the daily data that it is requesting and that it needs to calculate the pivots.
        2) I am unable to replicate the issue at this time as I am receiving daily data for both the Nifty and BankNifty futures (see enclosed screenshot). The best course of action when having a problem such as the one you are reporting is to contact eSignal's support directly or through LiveRep so that they can identify where you are connecting to and/or what the issue may be

          Hi Alexis ,

          Thanks for your reply.

How do i connect to LiveRep? For the last few days whenever i try connecting to live rep i get the message "The page must be viewed over a secure channel"The page must be viewed over a secure channel

It used to work fine a few days back .... but not sure why it is throwing up this message lately.. as a result i have grown frustrated with using esignal and had to post this thread on forum.

I guess issue might be with my internet connectivity (maybe!) ... but want someone from esignal to help out.
