  • efs timestamps not updated when edited

If I edit an efs file with the efs editor, the file's "modified" timedate stamp does not change (on a local disk, it does over a networked drive). This complicates backup and archiving. Why?

At my end the Modified date is updating [even on a local drive] when the file is edited and saved using the EFS Editor (see the enclosed snapshots taken before and after an update)

Thanks, but here's what I see - ah, how do i include an image?

Well, I just edited and saved it again, the modified time is unchanged, and yes I did even open it externally to check I'm looking at the right copy!
If I edit it with notepad and save, the modified timestamp does update. Bizarre.

I repeated the process and as you can see in the enclosed animation the Modified date is being updated on a local file when the efs is edited with the EFS Editor
