EFS update (in tools menu)

I have just noticed a new feature in eSignal 7.3 named EFS update. I don't know if this is working or not, but it seems it is a way to collect updates of formulas.

As you are updating quite often your formulas, do you know how this work? Is it something that needs to be enabled in formulas?

Yes it is working and if you use the attached efs you will see how.

- Make sure that you have EFS Updates set to check "Everytime eSignal is started" (see under Tools-> EFS-> Auto Updates).
- Create a new chart and load the attached acmupdatedemo.efs.
- Once the efs is loaded in the chart you should see an EFS icon appear in the System Tray (if the icon does not appear just restart eSignal and it will show the next time you run the efs)
- Click the icon and the EFS Updates dialog box should open with acmupdatedemo.efs listed as version 1 and a version 2 available.
- Highlight the efs in the list and then click "Update Selected"
- A warning message will tell you to Restart eSignal for the changes to go into effect. If you Reload the efs you will see that it has been updated.
