  • Problem using Encryption for .efs files

I hope someone can help me.

I have access to both esignal v 10, and esignal 7.9.1.

I have developed a .efs study that I would like to encrypt before distributing. I have tried this in both versions, with no success.

    I selected "Tools", "Efs", "Encrypt/Decrypt".

At the pop up window, I selected the file I wrote and want to encrypt, and enhanced encryption. and then the "Encrypt" button.

But once I do this, I get a pop up that says "encrypting", and has a spot to list a file name and a status. This remains blank, and nothing seems to happen. I have even let it run all night hoping that it would just take time to encrypt.

Can anyone help me out with getting this to encrypt correctly?

    Thanks,

    Judy

What you describe would suggest that you may have just selected the file by clicking on it but omitted to check the box next to the file name which is required. If this is not the case then please attach a sample efs that you cannot encrypt so that someone can test it
FWIW I can encrypt any efs without problems using both versions of eSignal and either method.

      Hate when it's operator error

Thanks so much. You were right.. I somehow missed the check box. I hate when it's operator error :-)

      Thanks,
