I wasn't sure where would be the best place to ask this question, so I figured I would try to post it here.
In an attempt to identify trading opportunities, I have written 4 similar but different EFS's and because I normally monitor 5 different stocks intraday. I actually end up loading 20 charts just to load and run my EFS's, these charts typically sit behind the scene, then I will have approximately 11 additional charts on my screen displaying candlesticks, stochastics and or MACD charting.
I have noticed that at any given time, I do not get alerts for 1 or more of my stocks, and after checking have confirmed that the conditions for the alert has been met.
The test I ran which brought me to this conclusion, is I loaded the EFS which should have alerted me, (while the 20 other EFS's were loaded) and in bar replay mode, moved to and through the section where the alert should have come = no alert. Then I unloaded all of the 20 EFS's, re-ran the bar replay mode (with a single EFS loaded) and sure enough I received the expected alert.
The EFS's are not very complicated, compared to some of the other work I have seem.
Can any one tell me if I have reached an EFS limit of some sort ??
I have also read somewhere that another way to develop EFS's which cover multiple stocks over multiple timeframes, is to write an API ???
Can anyone tell me if I have reached this requirement ??
If yes, I know what API's are, but I have not personally written one, so any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated.
Regards,
Royce
