    Hello,

I would like to know how you are calculating the DMI and ADX as I like to do them manually to get the feel of what they are telling me.Thank you.

I am in process of researching this for you. In the interim, here are some good links on Directional Movement.

      RE: Reply to post 'Formulas'

      Hi Jayf,

Thank you for your reply. The only problem with these to sites is that they
do not explain the formula (for DMI/ADX)that esignal is using.I t just talks
about how to use it which is NOT understanding it.I would really like to get
the actual formula to calculate it manually. Thanks again.

      Regards,

      M McDonald

I believe this URL gives an explanation of the algorithm behind ADX:

Has anyone done any work on efs or backtesting the angle of change in dmi+/-, and price action in relation to angles? ive been using that as a key trigger to trade off of for years, but coding is beyond my scope for now...but im working on that!

            thanks,

              Please explain...

If you give me more detail on what you are interested in doing, I can create something that you can back-test...
