help on communication between java and EFS?

My EFS needs to communicate with a java program periodically and send out some quote data to the java program. ( No data is sent to EFS because I know EFS can not receive any data from other programs. ) How to do this? Does anybody have done this before? If so, could you share a skeleton of the code ? Any help is appreciated.

I personally don't know Java so I won't be much help on the code front, but I have come across something called Live Connect, which allows JavaScript to communicate with Java. I have no idea if this will work with through EFS, but it may be worth a look. Here's a couple links.
