changing the color of a MA

It's been a very long time since I worked efs, so I'm probably overlooking something very simple. I'm trying to color the MA based on it's current direction. but it only plots the default color. It refuses to execute the setBarFGColor command on BARSTATE_NEWBAR. What did I miss?
