  • Removing indicator name and parameters from chart

Hi, I have an EFS indicator and do not want the indicator name or parameters to show on the chart. I thought that by commenting out the line "SetStudyTitle("") " would take care of this. It does not, instead it actually lists the file location.
    Suggestions?

    Tx

    Hello Kiwi,

Here are two options for you. Enter a space for setStudyTitle(" "). That will give the appearance that the title is not visible. And/or change your text color in your chart properties to be the same color as your chart’s background. We don’t currently have an option to turn off the title and/or formula parameters, but it has been suggested.

I sure second that request for a way to turn off/on the display of study titles for all studies on a chart. During trading hours, study titles are just a bunch of distracting clutter. This is particularly troublesome on narrow charts. Study titles really interfere.

setStudyTitle(" ") and changing the text color are the only workarounds right now I guess, but with setStudyTitle(" ") you lose the study title entirely, and a study title color change only works if the study has no background color changes and if all charts with that study have the same background color.

Any idea when a study titles on/off setting might make it in product?

        Hello Lancer,

I was told that this feature will be added in one of the upcoming releases. Can't say for certain how soon, but it will added in the near future.

There is another thing that should be changed. If you edit a study, all the parameter are shown in the Tab below of the chart (stack mode).
If Function-Parameters with Colors are used, this can be a lot of numbers, and you can't even see the next study-tab.

So in fact, parameters should not be shown in the tabs.

In Release Candidate 3 (Build 605) you can turn off the labels on the charts themselves (for all studies). Right-click in the chart, select 'properties', and toggle off the labels.

              Dion,

I already have official 7.4 version (Build 608), and the option to toggle off the labels is NOT FOUND in the chart Properties.

              Is this somewhere else maybe???

FWIW the option in Properties to toggle the labels off is called Draw Study Titles.

Thanks, I got it. I guess I wasn't looking closely enough.
