  • Invalid Symbol?

    Hello Sidog1,

In regards to your PM, are you referring to PerformanceComp.efs? Line 62 in this formula shouldn't be generating an invalid symbol error. I just tested the formula on IBM with $INDU as a comparison symbol and everything is working fine. Have you made any modifications to the formula? Please give me some more details.

    %performancecomp.efs

    hi jason,
yes it is the performancecomp.efs. i tried entering symbols for all the red areas from the web example. However, nothing would come out for me. Am i not supposed to fill in all the red areas ? is it possible to see an example formula with symbols filled in already? that would help alot.

      Hello sidog1,

I think I understand the problem. Sounds like you were trying to edit the formula manually. Download the formula again and resave it. Then apply the formula to your advanced chart. Be sure to use a custom time template that limits the numbers of days (or bars) so that you get a specific starting point. If your time template is in dynamic mode, this formula isn't too useful.

Next, right click on your advanced chart and select "Edit Studies."

Select the formula from the drop-down box and you will see two formula parameters, Symbol1 and Symbol2. Enter your comparison symbols there and click OK.

The end result should look something like this.
