Function to Control Indicator Variables

I was playing around with some of the professional coded indicators and I noticed a pretty need function. On the Hawkeye Volume indicator there is a small box on the bottom left hand corner that if you click on it then you automatically are taken to the screen to change the variables for the indicator.

Could you give an example of how this is coded and where you would place it in an indicator? This same box is used on several other professional written indicators.
