expiration date

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I'm writing my first EFS scripts and I am extremely confused as to the workings of the Date functions. I'm trying to compute the # of days until expiration for a particular futures contract but am having trouble. Ideally, I'd like to be able to automatically compute the expiration date, but if not, I can input that date myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the quick response. Is there a way to pull out the expiration date from a certain symbol? That is, can I retrieve the date as I can retrieve Open,High,etc....?
