  • Nice on historical UGLY during replay??

    Hi,
I've got a pretty smooth and faily responsive MA. It looks great when I load it onto a historical chart, but it does not draw correctly during tick replay. If I pause replay and reload the study it looks great again.

What's up with that? How can this be corrected?

    Dennis

Here's some pics of myEMA(20,1) on a tick chart of GENZ during replay and after reloading the study (next post):

Looks better now, doesn't it? By the way, same thing happens if I do it with a 1m or 5m interval. Note that the last drawn value is correct, but the prior ones are all dramatically horizontally compressed.

I also just noted the built in MA does not exhibit this odd behaviour.

        Hello Dennis,

Are you using an EFS formula? If so, please post a copy of your code here.

          Hello Dennis,

The problem here is actually a known problem with EFS formulas and tick intervals running on fast markets. Our development team is aware of it and is working a fix for a future release. For now, try using an interval like 10T or 5S.

            Thanks Jason,

I'll look forward to a fix. I deleted the code I posted earlier as it is a little buggy and I don't want to circulate buggy code in my name

By the way, the other intervals won't 'cause I need to do some magic with the bid as info on a tick by tick basis. hmmm, well maybe. I'll see.

            Thanks again

            Dennis
