  • Stochastic values by tick

    Hi,

When I print out the stochastic %K %D values by the tick, I discover the the %K and %D value for each bar, say 1M bar, is just the last tick %K %D value for that bar.

I don't know whether this is obvious but what surprises me is that sometimes between 2 ticks, the equities price, say ES price, is the same, but the %K %D value may differ significantly, as illustrated:

    Tick n: ES=1204.00 %K=34.00 %D=%32.11
    Tick n+1: ES=ES=1204.00 %K=43.00 %D=%39.11

Is this something that relates to the internal calculation for the stochastic?

So if it is the tick inside a bar, how is the %K %D values be determined?

    Thanks a lot.
