  • How do you identify the "Chart Type"? For example, a Renko chart

Is there some way to identify if the the chart type?

Specifically if it is a Renko chart?

    Hi Wayne,
The only way I could find any reference to chart type was in a 'Template' I'd saved,
I opened it in notepad and eventually found a ref; to Candlestick/Bar/Renko/Tagi etc.
I've never come across an efs2 function to determine displayed bar type...
why would you need to, as it is so easy to change from the chart itself?
Although I admit that some indicators do not suit some chart types!

    Regards

      Hi Nigel,

I didn't find any related functions either so I asked before sending it as a requested feature.

Some efs studies don't work with renko charts. For example try adding volume to one.
So, if an efs can identify the chart type and it has components that aren't supported by renko charts, I can have it alert me that it is incompatible or at a minimum, stop execution.

Yes, I figured that must be the reason you wanted to detect what type of chart you're loading into...
Looks like it's currently only available to those higher entities who have secret knowledge of the
        inner workings of 'the Engine'...
