Number of bars displayed

Hi all. Any suggestions on how I can easily determine the left most bar actually displayed on the chart? I would like to 'DrawLineAbsolute' starting from the very first bar actually displayed on the left hand end of the chart. All comments appreciated.

No one at all? Not even to say it can't be done? Well then, can anyone give me a hint on how I can access the drawing tool "Rectangle" from within an EFS? Or a similar function that will allow me to draw a colored band a few ticks wide horizontally on a chart? All answers appreciated.
