  • HH-LL.efs

Just a couple of question wasn't sure if this was possible. I am still pounding my way through this coding. (Thank you! Alex, Dloomis, and the rest of the gang) On the HH-LL.efs, do all the bars have to be painted based on the formula? Or can the standard default in edit studies maintain the candle colors until the efs comes into play? Also could the efs just paint the initial bar of the HH or LL and ignore til the opposite action occured. If not maybe I could just use the paint backround instead.

Once you paint a bar you have to paint them all even if you are painting only the first one for a given condition.
As to the second question depending on how you set the conditions you can paint a bar every first time the condition exists (High>HH of n bars) or you can paint a bar only the first time until the opposite condition (Low<LL of n bars) verifies true.
The two images below show the different situations.

I thought that was going to be the answer. Thanks for the clarification Alex.
