  • LR channel study on a custom formula?

i have no idea how to program, but i also can't find anything to help me out. i have a simple mathematical formula that should draw a simple curve based on the daily chart. i want to draw a 20 day linear regression channel for that line and draw them both so i can see it. i'm not that smart, so if i can conceive of it, it cant be that difficult to do, but i cant quite figure out how to program it. any help would be appreciated.

    toddeholden,

Take a look at this linear regression channel thread. Not just the last couple of posts, I would recommend looking at the whole thread.

      thanks steve

thanks but since today is the first time ive ever even seen this code, its a foreign language to me. the help file likewise doesnt give me much understanding on how to add the channel. sorry, somehow i thought it would be a little more straight forward than this

Then I would start off with the formula wizard, and start getting familiar with. Here is the link to the documentation on formula wizard plus efs -http://www.esignalcentral.com/univer...se/default.asp. FWIW, posts with won't get much help IMHO, I usually pass over.

          yeah, been doing that

ive tried a half a dozen times today. im probably too frustrated to figure it out right now. i could probably do it in excel, but i dont get how to do it in javascript. thats extra frustrating since it should be a simple linear regression channel on a very basic SMA study. i should probably hang it up today before i take a sledge hammer to the computer.

the problem is that i keep getting a syntax error when i set it up in the wizard and try to edit the code. i just dont know the right protocol yet i guess. that and i dont want to take months to learn a new language...

probably easier if i just hire someone

It is pretty easy, I am not good at the wizard, to be honest, I have not tried much, I just code my stuff. Anyways, if someone does not step up, I will try and help out over next couple of days. Keep plugging away, and walk away when u get the urge to sledge.
