  • Custom Study Properties Window

    Dear ESignal Team,

Is Esignal going to support a customizable Study Properties window similar to the current Built-In formula studies window for changing study parameters.

This could be offered to those study authors who want to present a more user friendly and professional looking Edit Study Window.

Currently, for example, when you add the Built-IN MA study you can edit the Length, Offset, Source, Color ,Thickness, Style, etc from a nice user friendly interface.

If you add you own MA-not that you would want to- You must edit all your parameters on an formula parameters page. This is fine for simple functions with only a few paramters but it begins to get kind of overwhelming and messy for functions with large parameter lists.

I have seen many products that provide this kind of "view" substitution as a way for developers to develop customizable windows and plugins for their products.

One suggestion would be to provide a small GUI Builder that would allow the developer to create custom parameter window using predefined widgets that ESignal could provide.

    Any comments about this possibility?

    Thanks

    Hello bmontegani,

Thank you for your suggestion. Please submit your idea for additional customization of the Formula Parameters interface to [email protected]. Our development reviews this inbox.

On a side, have you used the askForInput( [Title] ) function? It doesn't allow you to set what parameters are to be viewed but it is a nicer way to bring up the Formula Parameters list for quick editing. Here's an example formula below that uses a text button to open the parameters window.
