  • Price filtering...

Anyone know if it is possible to to limit prices plotted
to the chart to a single broker. I'm in the Forex market
and would like only FXCM prices and not all the other
    brokers prices.

    TIA

Unfortunately, that's not presently possible but it's exactly the sort of improvement we're looking to make regarding our Forex data in future versions. I don't have an ETA at this stage but I can tell you our subscriber base to Forex is growing dramatically so improvements in this area are becoming more and more of a priority.

I should qualify this answer by saying there's no built-in way to filter the contributors but I don't know if there's any way an EFS could be written to somewhat present the activity of just one contributor. I doubt this though since our history data would still be aggregated with all contributors.

    Thanks.

If I load up a 60 day chart and if there was some way in EFS to
filter every price out except prices from FXCM then wouldn't the
Parabolic Study calculate itself only on these prices? There must
be a way in EFS to know if the price coming in is from a specific
broker? Would the price have a tag attached to it...

      (ie. O 1.3455 H 1.3465 L 1.3450 C 1.3456 FXCM)?

Because if it did I could write some code to filter these prices out.

      Thanks.

The streaming incoming data (b/a) does indicate the source (FXCM for ex) under the Exchange Bid and Exchange Ask fields. You can also see these sources when looking at Time and Sales. Once we convert the data to 1 minute bars, we no longer store the source exchange. If you can work with the tick data, perhaps you can do something that looks at the past 10 days ( the limit of our tick history ). I'm not a programmer so I can't be of much further help but perhaps others will join in here.

        Thanks.

          Hello rwd1971,

The broker information you're looking for is not exposed to EFS currently. Please submit a suggestion to have this capability added to [email protected].
