Saving an AGet chart as a .gif file

Hi everyone,

I once knew how to save an AGet chart (as a .gif file) to my hard drive using a simple command (such as ATL+G), but I forgot how since I hadn't done so in a long time. If anyone remembers what the keystrokes were/are, I'd greatly appreciate a post so that I can attach charts to emails.

I am aware of the PrintScreen function, but the command that I used to use was much simpler and easily/quickly saved the picture to .gif.

Ctrl+G directly saves an image as a gif file. Having said that in my EOD
version that image is simply a screen of one color so I am not positive the
command is still implemented in the latest versions of Get.
If you are using eSignal/Get you may want to use the eSignal Snapshot applet
(or right click on a chart and select Send Image To-> Local File).
As an aside the eSignal Snapshot will capture images with any other program
not just eSignal.

<CTRL> <G> still works in the EOD.... but unfortunately it only works well if you set your monitor display setting to the 256 color setting.

try using a program such as snagit, it can copy the whole screen or part only so quite useful.

You can do this for free in Windows XP

1. Make AGET the active window
2. Set up the window as desired
3. <alt>-PrtSc
4. Open up M$FT Paint program (in XP: Start-All Programs-Accessories-Paint)
5. In Paint menu Edit--paste (or <ctrl>-v)
6. In Paint menu File--save as
A small window pops up
6a. Save in--your desktop
6b. Save as type--GIF
6c. File name--whatever you desire

Hi,

I think the <Control> <G> still works, but that print feature was never updated for current standards. One thing we use to do, change the monitor to a lower resolution (ie. 800x600 , or lower color quality) and then it would capture a good image. It can be annoying, but at least it still can work.

Another way, <screen print> and dump it into PaintShop Pro, then crop, save as a png.
