Adv Get 7.6 Eod. I'm testing the Pitchfork tool. Little problem: i click on Low or High points, but all i get is grid points. Magnet on, magnet off, magnet set to 1 or 20... no change. Where is my stupid mistake?

    thanks marco

The Pitchfork is a 3 click tool ie first click on a significant High/Low
then a click on each of the two subsequent swings.
Is that what you are doing?

      Yes.
I click on H/L and swings, but tool uses grid points.
There's a "snap to grid" hidden function i can't deactivate.

Other than the Magnet Tool I can't think of any other 'snap to' setting.
What data are you using ie. what format and what symbol?

          Metastock Eod data. Downloader 7.22.
          EurUsd (forex trader).

I know there's no "snap to grid" function.
There is 1 chart it's all okay (UsdJpy) but i don't undestand why.

Are you getting the correct resolution in the number of decimals?
If yes then I don't know why this would be happening, if no and you are
using the Metastock File Library format then there are two solutions that I
posted in the Get group at YahooGroups. I can dig them up if needed.

number of decimals... could it be right.... 'cause Eur, Gbp, Chf use 4 decimals (1.1313). Jen only 2 decimals (177.76).
Can you please show me where i can find your solutions?

              thanks marco

Here are the two solutions I originally posted at YahooGroups.

First of all look at the image where below you can see a chart for the Euro. The data format is metastock file library 7.2 and the security is the Euro which trades in 4 decimals. Get shows it as 2 which I believe is the problem you are having.

                Solution #1 (the simpler one)
Instead of using Metastock File Library in your Data Paths set the path up as Computrac/Metastock as shown in the following image.
However to do so you must have a) less than 255 securities in a folder and b) dop files As you can see the very same data file now shows more than two decimals.

Solution #2 (the appropriate one - but more labor intensive)
Maintain the Data Path as Metastock File Library. Go to File-->Symbol Defaults and Add the symbols for which you want to see more than two decimals. You will need to set up each and every symbol with the appropriate Base, Decimals and Minimum Tick. You also have to indicate the root symbol and Type (Future, Index, Stock).

As an example look at image above. As you can see once again what initially plotted with only two decimals now plots with four as per the Symbol Default setup.

                Hope this helps

                  PERFECT.
                  YOU ARE A REAL GURU.
Second option (msk file library) works great. You save my day.

                  thanks a lot marco

                    Thank you for the compliment.
More importantly glad to hear that all is working now.
