  • Date format change to dd/mm/yyyy

Does anybody know how to change the date format which appears on the GET charts from a US to Australian standard of DD/MM/YYYY.

My PC runs Windows XP which has the correct date format but GET does not appear to pick this up automatically.

    Hi Philby,

As of right now this is not able to be done within GET for the eSignal Wizard data. However, if you are wanting to use the data in another program then you do have the option of converting it to ASCII and setting up the format that you are after. I'll suggest it to our developers to take a look at adding support for this in a future release.

I am downloading my daily data from a local vendor and am able to use it in either GET or Metastock.

Although Metastock requires the data in US date format, the program allows you to set the date format for your charts so that when you print a chart out or when you scroll around the chart the information you see is in a format that is familiar to you.

My question was not so much around how esignal downloads data but where in Advanced GET can I change the date properties etc.

      Thanks

        Hi Philby,

As of right now it is a limitation of the program. It will always want to display it as Month, Day, Year. I'll forward this on to the developers so they can take a look at adding support for this down the road.

          Thanks.

How will I check for GET upgrades - the esignal site only seems to have downloads etc for esignal. There is no reference to GET patches upgrades etc.

          Regards

I have another item you can pass on to the programmers - I cannot find a way of centering my chart print outs on the page. There is no margin option in the GET printer setup.

When I print out a chart and punch it to place in my trading folder, I lose the header line with the name, OHLC pricing etc.

It would be usefull if I could put a 1 inch margin at the top of the page. I also use Metastock 8 and can centre the chart on the printed page.

Can GET look at this request ?

                Hi Philby,

Have you tried both of the print options? Print Chart and Print Page? They do differ...try both of them and see which one you like best. When printing a chart, you might want to have the chart in a window rather than maximized, and then just stretch it out to fill up the entire blank space.
