  • MOB - Indicator

I find when I plot the MOB in GET I nearly alwys get the black indicator block on the left.

In the attached screen print note the black block on the bottom left of the MOB bar blue strip - I also have seen this indicator block on many other screen prints in this forum - is it normal or does the MOB have insufficient information to accurately plot a band ?

Which is the correct way to plot the MOB ?

    Philby,

The black bar on the lower left of the MOB tells you that AGet doesn't have enough data to completely predict the MOB target. This is a most common occurence and is normal. When you get a MOB without the black bar, you can have a higher confidence that the target will be hit.

Every few days, if you are using a daily plot, delete the old MOB and project it again. You will see that if will move over time, just like the ellipse will.

To plot a MOB, turn on the Pivots, then click on the MOB tool and click on one of the Pivot symbols. This will give you a MOB target. MOBs projected of of Primary (P) pivots will have a wider range than lower level pivots (J).

    Cheers,

    Matt

        Phily,

Matt is correct, if you ever get a black spot showing up at the beginning of the MOB, this means that there isn't enough data for the MOB to be 100% certain that this is the level. Keep erasing and redrawing the MOB as each bar comes in until the black spot is gone. It mostly affects the timing marks, but it sometimes means the MOB can still relocate later. I have been working on a new article on using the MOB which should be posted later this month at the Advanced GET User Group, under File Sharing.

Thanks Matt for helping and sharing!
