  • Macd Settings

    Hey all ,

I really need some input here Does anyone know a good combination for macd as apposed to the normal 12,26,9 which can reduce the amount of whipsaws because i just cannot follow the regular one just looks like a rope that someone is continuosly shaking up and down - ie as soon as its about to cross the signal line in backs off 3 or 4 times before really crossing .
I'm particularly talking about Forex markets 60 min charts , if anyone can help me out here will be great

Thanks ever so much ...it's really driving me up the wall!!!!!

    60min MACD-Hard to get whipsawed

The standard MACD settings are fine IMO....Just start with the 60min MACD crossover signal for your standard interval. Now lets see where the Price is in relation to the 40MA and the 200MA.

Now, set up a 30 min chart and 120min interval......watch these
awhile paying special attention to the Price and the 40MA.

I think the 60 min MACD crossover is good for seeing the direction.....
I don't know if it's the best tool for small interval trading...

I know it's a good tool...you must trust the larger interval
to avoid whipsaw trading. The problem I've seen
is you trade an expected crossover and it doesn't happen.

Only experience will give you trust in what works
    and doesn't.

Just my opinions on MACD trading.
