  • how run searchs on older days

    Hi,

I am new to advance get and I want to do some practice before I actually start depending on this software. I have tried the training mode but it doesn't really help me much (maybe i am not using it right), but i want to run a type 1 search lets say on data 1 month ago, how can i do that? it seems to me that the software only searches current data.

    Thanks

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

What you are looking for is some sort of a backtesting feature which the Advanced GET stand alone program does not have. What you can do to simulate a backtest in GET is to change to the desired date on your pc clock and then do the search. Also your GET version should at least be build 394.

    Thanks,

    Me

      backtesting

When is esignal going to incorportate this into AdvancedGET - it would be very useful. If Optionetics/Platinum can do it, esignal should be able to do so as well. Hope this happens sometime sooner than later.

        Marcstevens,

Thank you for the suggestion. We've received several requests of bringing this feature into Advanced Get. While I don't have an ETA for when it might be implemented, we are still looking at this very closely and hopefully will have it introduced into the software as soon as possible. Thanks for the feedback.

It appears that with Win XP, the PC's clock gets reset to the current time, perhaps by action of the data wizard. Thus, the kludge for backtesting may not work for some systems.
