    Same answer given to Edo in another thread. Compared to what specific
    contract?
    YM #F has already switched to M3 as of yesterday's market reopening but the
    front month is still H3 up to 8:30 CST

      I don't anderstand why "the continuous symbol YM #F" change to M3 if H3 is still runing.

        Otherwise eSignal would have to reset the symbol in mid session. Do consider
        that most of these electronically traded contracts are in effect one
        continuous session and it is far easier (and less prone to errors IMHO) to
        reset them at their opening. Also from a trader's
        point of view it means that at the 8:30 CST market open you have timely data
        rather than have to wait for all the resets to be implemented.
        IMHO - given that one still has access to the specific contracts - the
        advantages of this method far outweigh the disadvantages that last only a
        few thinly traded hours anyway.
