$TNX and $TYX intraday data poor

  • $TNX and $TYX intraday data poor

    Its Wednseday July 20 at 10:15am Eastern and I have no intraday price update for $TYX since 9:55am.

    I click CTRL+OK on cursor window still nothing.


    $TNX and $TYX are always pretty poor updating on intraday charts compared to other data vendors I've used.

    Please look into the update frequency for $TNX and $TYX as it needs much improvement.

    Hello Matt,

    eSignal's index data works a bit differently then some other vendors. In order to save on resources, the eSignal data feed will ignore any duplicate updates. In essence, this means that if an exchange sends the following data:

    8/3 11:59:30 4.300
    8/3 11:52:12 4.299
    8/3 11:49:44 4.299
    8/3 11:46:20 4.299
    8/3 11:45:50 4.298
    8/3 11:39:08 4.299
    8/3 11:36:28 4.299
    8/3 11:32:24 4.298
    8/3 11:32:10 4.296
    8/3 11:29:08 4.298
    8/3 11:28:06 4.298

    ... the bolded items will not be displayed on a chart or updated in a Quote Window.

    Please note that this policy is in place only on actual indexes, not on any traded derivitive on an index (like QQQQ, or ES fut's.)

      Jay,

      That's not the problem. Today august 4th as well no chart data for $TNX since 8:39am eastern and its now 10:15am eastern.

      This index HAS changed value in the almost two hours of no data from Esignal.

      I restarted Esignal and data manager to no avail.

      What's going on?

        $TNX was repeating the same values for much of today's morning hours. This was being sent from the exchange this way, and outside our control. Other data vendors were experiencing the same "outage" we were. We're checking with the exchange as to why these situations continue to occur. I'll follow-up in this thread if we get any statement from OPRA.
