Monthly chart

Missing something basic here...

MA (Mastercard - NYSE), has an opening of 44.93, and a low of 43.47 on a monthly chart (for 06/06). On a weekly chart, the open of the first candle is 44.97, and the lowest low for Jun 06 is 42.85. Shouldn't these two values be the same?

They would be the same only if the first day of the month was also the first day of the week.
The first day of June 2006 however was a Thursday so the Open for that week was that of Tuesday May 30th (Monday 29th was Memorial Day) and the Low was the one also posted on Tuesday May 30th
