  • Prev Close.efs & Today's Open.efs Not Drawing Correct Lines

    Hello,

Today, I have noticed that some formulas (i.e. Prev Close.efs and Today's Open.efs) were not drawing correct lines on the advanced charts.

Charts for the US symbols (e.g. DIA, SPY, QQQ etc) were drawing correct lines until Friday 23rd May, and those for $CAC and $DAXI were showing proper lines until Monday 26th May.
However, all my charts shows NO LINES of Today's Open.efs for Tuesday 27th May, and displays "today's close" for Prev Close.efs.
(For your information, please see the attached.)

Is there any problem with data on your servers, or if not, what is the reason for this?
I also would like to know how these can be fixed.

    Regards,
    Moriaki Oishi

    moishi,

We have had other reports of this as well, and are researching the cause. The fix is to do the following:

    1) Close eSignal and Data Manager.
    2) Delete all copies of Calendars.tab
    3) Restart eSignal.

More information on the problem as we discover it.
    Regards,

Here is the information discovered on this problem.

We encountered a really strange problem this morning in that the Daily bar for today (27th) wasn't showing up for these symbols. Originally seemed to be limited to clients that were in Europe.

Both old and new charts were effected
Bar shows when set to Pacific time thru Eastern time.
Set time-zone to either side of current “noon” and the problem persisted.
Set Time -zone prior to current “11:00am” and it worked fine. On other side of current “11:00am” - bar disappears.
Delete Calendar files and today’s bars show up fine.
      e-Minis were also effected.
$DAXI using the USA Calendar file.
A0-FX symbols were okay but then they’re using their own calendar in which yesterday was not a holiday
Our engineers are researching the cause of this problem.
      Regards,

        JayF,

Thank you for your information and suggestion.

Having deleted calendars.tab files, charts now appear to display correct Prev Close and Today's Open for $CAC and $DAXI, though I had to close and re-open a layout to get correct lines after market opening.
I will watch what will happen to charts of US symbols this afternoon.

        Regards,
        M. Oishi
