Real time TRIX caluculation (daily)

Hi, my first posting here.

I use multiple chart frames to look at the market (i.e. such as the Dow Jones Industrials). I've noticed that indicators (such as TRIX) change in real time even on a daily chart. Does anyone know how or why such a thing is possible given that the chart layout is a daily one as opposed to a 5-minute, 25-minute, etc. chart.

I would assume that such values change only after the close of the market.

Any help would be appreciated.

It depends on how the formula is constructed. If it is set to compute only on the Close of a bar then yes it will not update as the bar is being built otherwise it will update as every new tick comes in even on a daily chart.

Alexis, thank you for your quick reply, apologise about my delay in replying....yes...you answered my problem/question.....though it is a daily chart, it is being calculated on every tick....
