  • 5 hours of futures data missing on 11/19

All futures exchanges appear to be missing historical data on 11/19/07 from around 9pm until 11/20/07 at 2:25am EST.

This is a recurring problem that was also reported happening on 11/9/07.

It's disturbing that the servers at eSignal's end were up and running during this period (I know, I was watching the market), yet the historical tick data is missing.

Either eSignal doesn't have a way to resync one of it's history servers that's missing data with it's other history servers that have a complete database or it isn't doing it.

A major IT operations shortcoming I'd like see addressed...

    Shortandlong,

I've checked ES Z7 and YM Z7 on various servers, but have not seen any gaps in data as mentioned in your post. Which symbol(s) are you specifically looking at?

We are currently making upgrades to the current server infrastructure. This will add new functionality, such as CID support, to the feed, but does in no way imply that servers that have not been upgraded yet are not saving historical data.

Please send me your username through a private message, so I can check the server you are connected to. Add please symbols and time intervals you are looking at.

I've already rebooted which has switched me to a good server.

I suspect one of your test/QA history servers is making it out to the 'net, especially since I occassionally have access to what should be delayed data that is up-to-date - not delayed.

I would check your test machines to see if they have the gap I mentioned.

The missing data is across ALL symbols, as if the entire server was down for several hours.

I'll try to contact you directly next time this happens to track it down.

6E Z7 and DX A0 were two specific quotes I remember being missing on 11/19/07 from around 9pm until 11/20/07 at 2:25am EST.
