Does eSignal always adjust daily data for dividends?
on 11-28 what amounted to a dividend was issued for OIH as RIG acquired GSF.
The following is from the Holdrs site
--------------------------------------------
November 28, 2007
Transocean Inc. (RIG) is scheduled to acquire GlobalSantaFe Corporation (GSF) effective 11/27/2007. GSF shareholders will receive $22.46 in cash and 0.4757 shares of (New) Transocean Inc. (RIG) for each share held. RIG shareholders will receive $33.03 in cash and 0.6996 shares of (New) Transocean Inc. (RIG) for each share held.
$1043.1785 in cash will be added to the index to reflect the cash distributions to GSF and RIG shareholders as part of the merger agreement. This cash will be distributed on ex-date 11/28/2007.
---------------------
A few days later eSignal adusted the daily prices of OIH downward signifcantly as though it had split.
Yet neither the Holders site, nor Yahoo shows the adjusted prices as this was not a split.
see the holdrs chart at
You will note the 52 week high is 204.60 or something like that while eSignal shows the 52 week high as 185.68
Yahoo charts also show the 204 high.
Should the OIH data be restored? If not, what is the eSignal policy on adjusting for dividends?
