  • Data availability from Asia over weekend?

I reside in Tokyo. I have been having serious connectivity problems the past few days. Often times I will get an 'invalid password' error for hours at a time, then suddenly the service will be available for a while, before being unavailable again.

This is not an Internet/firewall issue; I can only assume it is a problem with the eSignal servers.

    Tokyo connectivity difficulties

    Hi Scott,

    Thanks for your forum post.

We are not currently experiencing any difficulties with our sytem.

I have checked the status of your account and it appears to be in good standing.

According to my records, you are not currently logged into our system with username surista. So, I am unable to check your current connections.

    Please can you advise:
    * What operating system are you running?
    * What version of our eSignal program are you operating? (Help/About)
    * Are you operating our program though any security structure?
Are you operating through a network?
    * Are you using any third party software which uses our data?

Here are a couple of knowledge based articles for you to check through:
    InterNET Connection Issues
    eSignal error messages

This is much easier to locate a cause for your service disruptions when checking in real time.

Could you please call us at the time you next notice this problem.
    Sydney support desk: +61 8668 1600
    London support desk: +44 207 825 8777
    US support desk: +1 510 266 6000

I have opened a support incident to help track your difficulties. Your Support incident reference number is: 6962746
Please quote this incident number when calling to report your next connection difficulties.

    Kind Regards,

I also live in Tokyo and use eSignal all day everyday including weekends and have had no problems whatsoever when using my 100Mbps connection at home or my 3.6Mbps pc card at Starbucks.

I am still not able to log on to the system, same error (invalid username or PSW). The Data Manater window says
        I-Net not connected (1 User)

        lease can you advise
        * What operating system are you running?
Vista (which blows; am going back to XP, actually)

        * What version of our eSignal program are you operating? (Help/About)

        Ver 10.

        * Are you operating our program though any security structure?
        * Are you operating through a network?
        * Are you using any third party software which uses our data?

Nope, straight 100Mbps, fixed DNS, firewalls etc. all double-checked and confirmed.

          Hello Scott,
Thanks for the post, we checked the connection manager and see that there was a connection this morning from IP address 125.192.XXX.XXX.

          What you may want to check is the following;

Task Manager to see if there is a winsig.exe or winros.exe process that may have hung,

Check the username and password in eSignal's File-->Preferences-->Connection, It should match what you have in the Data Manager's FIle-->Properties.
Lastly, try typing the username and password. This send a re-request to connect to the servers again.

Please let me know if any of this helps you get connected.
