  • V2TX (VSTOXX Index)

    Hello,

I dont find the symbol for the VSTOXX Index on the website. V2TX dont work.

The VSTOXX Index is based on Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50

I need this symbol for Multicharts, I dont use an eSignal software.

    Thanks

PS: I only get the symbols for the futures in eSignal 10.0.0 (Build 858)!

    VSTOXX Index

    Hi There,

    Thanks for your forum post.

Could you please provide a little more detail about the contract that you are after. Is the index known by an alternate name?

Yes, FVSX M8-DT will generate June 2008 VSTOXX futures. But I am not sure about the Cash/Index for this contract, so, any additional information you can provide, would be great.

    Kind Regards,

What I have is this information from the website:

Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50® Volatility (VSTOXX®)

The VSTOXX Index is based on Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50 realtime options prices and is designed to reflect the market expectations of near-term volatility by measuring the square root of the implied variance across all options of a given time to expiration.

The VSTOXX is part of a consistent family of volatility indices: VSTOXX based on the Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50; VDAX-NEW based on the DAX; and VSMI based on the SMI. The CBOE DJIA Volatility Index (VXD) follows a similar methodology and offers a comfortable way to compare volatility between US and European markets.

As my counterpart likely tried earlier, I'm not able to find a symbol for that index in our system.

Just in case, can you try $VDAX-EUX. Last traded at 19.56. No idea how or if this is related but I wanted to toss it out just in case.

Otherwise, we'll be happy to forward this information to Product Development so we can determine if we can add to our feed.

          Thanks.
