Symbols for dollar index and spot gold?

Hi,

I am trying to build charts on the dollar index and on spot gold. It seems that the dollar index symbol, DX, is not accessible without subscribing to ICE futures? Is this truly so? Is there another index that could serve as a proxy?

I would also like to chart the spot price of gold but can't find a symbol for that, either. Is there one?

I believe you are correct on the Dollar Index; you need to subscribe to ICE Futures US. The only spot Gold I'm aware of is in our Forex feed (XAU A0-FX).

You could add these services on a delayed basis to keep your costs down.

Ditto what Scott said - the Dollar Index is on the ICE Futures which is free to add - it's DX A0 (DXspaceAzero).

Just to update this thread.

As of this posting. The "ICE Futures US" required for accessing the Dollar Index costs $70.00.
