  • Why Forex Bars over weekends??

It seems every weekend eSignal will include a few bars over the weekend while the markets are closed.

This past weekend was very bad, with approximately 26 X 15-minute bars added in from 13:45 PST on Friday May 20 through 11:45 PST on Sunday May 22. These additional bars screw up my charts on ALL time frames. The attachment is a 15-min chart of EURUSD. This however happened on other currencies as well, such as AUDUSD, USDJPY, etc.

    eSignal:
    1. How can these bars be removed?
    2. Can you prevent them from feeding in the future?
    3. What are the excat times of forex data feed shutdown on Friday, and when does it resume on Sundays?

    Hi,

Are you still seeing those Sat ticks today?

Our KB covers the hours Forex rates should be updating in our system:

Therefore, you should see real-time updates on Forex symbols from approximately 17:00 GMT each Sunday (opening times will vary based upon activity) until approximately 22:00 GMT each Friday.

This matches what I'm seeing on a chart for USDEUR A0-FX. Nothing from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning (PT).

Sounds like we need to check the server you are connected to. You can call one of our offices or use LiveRep and we can determine that.

If the issue has gone away, we may be able to see what server you were on yesterday but the logs clear fairly often.

In terms of correcting them yourself, right click on a chart, choose tools, then Bar Editor.

There really shouldn't be any ticks on a Saturday so something was going on, based on your chart. Is this something you see every weekend that automatically clears on Monday or do you have to report it to be cleared?

    Thanks.
