  • Esignal problem with Realtime data for Asian Exchanges

    There have been a number of incidents where esignal is unable to transmit realtime data for Asian Markets after a break in trading ( either over the weekend or holidays )
    http://forum.esignal.com/showthread....today-20131002

    When such problems occur, users will not not receive realtime data and have will gaps in their historical data since Esignal do not replace the missing data.

    Can i suggest that Esignal make the following improvement.

    Most Asian exchanges (SGX or HKF) will have 15 to 30mins pre-opening where bid and ask quotes starts flowing, to determine the opening quote.
    Esignal should implement procedures to check that such pre-opening bid/ask quotes are at least flowing, if they are not, tech support should be alerted to fix the problem before actual trading hours.

    This makes esignal a lot more proactive, rather waiting for customers to alert you of the outage.

    Esignal and fellow traders, what do you think of this suggestion ?

    thank you.

    Yes, i agree with you. Also there is another issue. When you convert a 5 min chart into 60min chart, the price and shape of the candlestick dimnishes. although they say it should get resolved in next version of esignal

      @AEW_AB

      The issue you are speaking is one that we are aware of already and we are building an update for eSignal that fixes this issue specifically. It should be out soon and I will post here once it's been released.

      @aljafpaljafp

      This is definitely something that we can look into doing. We already have a procedure in place that will prevent most issue going forward. Thank you for the suggestion.
      Thank you,

        If Esignal releases software updates over the weekend and there are bugs, the Asian Exchanges, ASX, Osaka, SGX, Hong Kong are the first face problems on Monday morning.

        Check pre-opening bid/ask quotes will give Esignal a head start in discovering and recovering any issues before users face them.

        thanks
