How is calculate $ticki ?

Could you tell me how the $ticki statistic is calulate ?

the number of stocks in the DJIA 30 up minus the number of stocks in the DJIA 30 down - therefore maximum is +30 and minimum is -30 when all 30 stocks last print was either and uptick (+30) or downtick (-30).

typical intraday extremes are roughly +22/24 to -22/24
