    XAU A0-FX - It is a zero

    XAU A0-FX

    You need access to Currency Data First

    XAU A0-FX - It is a zero

    AU = Gold (periodic table)
    AG= Silver
    PT = Platinum etc
    Palladium =

    "X" - just goes in front of it from ye-olde-fx-trader convention,
    this has been replaced by ISO codes for currencies but not precious metals I
    guess.
    A0 - Implies the spot price rather than a forward price
    FX - Represents 'The Exchange"

      Spot silver and gold prices

      Why would a special data subscription be required for these? I get a "Not Ent. " error when I try to get quotes on them. (I have the eSignal equities package (with e-minis) and delayed North American futures.)

      The REALTIME silver and gold spot prices are available FREE on web pages such as these:

      http://www.kitco.com/charts/livesilver.html
      http://www.kitco.com/charts/livegold.html

      Why should any less be available to eSignal subscribers?

        We're providing our spot metals pricing via the GTIS Forex service. You can subscribe in either RT or Delayed. Here's our pricing page for more information.

        There are services that create their own spot prices and re-distribute for free. Not sure how those spot prices compare but GTIS is a well-respected source and has been delivering fixed income and currency data for over 20 years.

        Thanks.
